Perimenopause?

Perimenopause = the space of time prior (can be up to 10 years) to crossing the threshold of Menopause (one year of zero bleeds).

Honoring Perimenopause as a Rite of Passage

In the realm of the Womb, Perimenopause stands as a significant transition, often overlooked and minimized. It embodies a profound metamorphosis, a Rite of Passage, leading into the mysterious realms of y/our Cyclical Nature.

During Perimenopause, Womb-en encounter a myriad of physical, emotional, and psychospiritual changes. Hormonal fluctuations can stir up a storm of symptoms, challenging the very core of one's being. This tumultuous phase, however, can be reframed as an initiation into a profound journey of self-discovery and empowerment. The Heroine’s Journey of the Great Yin of Down & In. While there are many doorways into the Heroine’s Journey, Perimenopause is one.

The Heroine's Journey of Perimenopause opens a portal to meet with all of the unmet parts of Self and embrace the call to transformation. It is a call to traverse the unknown territory and mushy mess of the dissolution of Self - the living cycle of life and death. The struggles and triumphs experienced during Perimenopause mirror the trials and victories of an epic quest.

By viewing Perimenopause through the lens of the Heroine's Journey, it can reframe this challenging phase as a sacred passage leading to profound personal growth and embodied empowerment. Meeting with the transformative potential of Perimenopause, creates an opening to connect with the innate wisdom and intuition of the Womb. This allows for an emergence from this threshold with a deeper sense of self, a redefined purpose, and a newfound appreciation for the strength and wisdom that resides within.

Portal 4 Perimenopause (P4P) offers a space of exploration and introspection to delve deep into the mysteries of The Great Yin, honoring its significance as a rite of passage that heralds the emergence of the powerful, Wise-Wild Womban within.

Maxims

In honor of the Oracle of Delphi and the Maxims stated on Her temple.

Maxims were guidance for living life in a honest & worthy way in Ancient Greece.

The Maxims stated here at P4P are both a statement & declaration of restoring Yin in an excess Yang world and rectifying the Feminine as Sacred in a world that has strived to bury, dominate, & demean Her.

The

4 Pillars

the 4 in Portal 4 Perimenopause

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, there are 4 Pillars of Health and Well-Being. The 4 Pillars are the Physical, Mental, Emotional, & Spiritual.  These 4 Pillars are interdependent and interrelated. Like four legs on a table, all pillars contribute to overall health and wellness. Each is as important as the other. Each requires attention and care. If one becomes out of balance, it impacts the other three. In western culture, we tend to focus only on the physical pillar. This leaves out three other valuable applications towards overall wellness. In Portal 4 Perimenopause (P4P), neutral language will be provided to more deeply understand ALL pillars and HOW they contribute to overall wellness.

  • Physical

Empowerment of Self: The Power of Prioritizing Self

What do I need? How often are you asking yourself this question? How often have you prioritized others above yourself? At the expense of yourself?

Prioritizing others over yourself is accepted by our culture. Often we think that if I take time for myself, I am selfish, and un-dedicated to my obligations.

However, if your cup is empty, how much good are you actually doing? What if you could fill your cup first and support others to fill their own cup?

P4P is dedicated to helping you find a balance that honors you as much as you have been honoring everyone else. This is a place where you can come as you are, so you can fill your cup and find the balance that might have been missing in your life.

  • Mental

Empowerment of Self Awareness : The Power of Mindset/Mindfulness

The Mental Pillar may be the realm we most often inhabit. The mind a powerful tool of logic, reason, and rational. Our gatekeeper of meaning-making. A realm that has also been under siege from all directions (Hint = Social Media) to capture a most precious component — Our Attention. Where our attention goes, our energy flows. Therefore, it is a great act of rebellion to reclaim our Awareness.

What we take in through our senses and intellect informs us on many levels — mostly subconscious. To claim our awareness is to reclaim this realm. Awareness taps into our capacity to use our conceptual mind to exercise discernment and to form intentions. Mindset, when formed, becomes a formidable ally in cultivating our dreams and bringing them into reality. Mindfulness becoming a superpower in the quest to Know Thyself.

The power of conscious connection with the body and feeling states forms a bridge between mind, body, heart, and soul. Through these connections, they offer a filter of Truth. Your Truth. Assimilating your lived experiences, intellectual & creative pursuits, & inner knowing into embodied wisdom. Awareness of these connections strengthens a more deep and intimate knowledge of Self.

P4P is dedicated to helping you harness the power of the mind to cultivate you awareness, support mindfulness, & fortify mindset.

  • Emotional

Empowerment of Self-Acceptance: The Power of Valuing/Accepting Self

“All of me is welcome here.” -Dr. Arielle Schwartz

What does that statement bring up for you? What parts of yourself have you deemed unworthy of love and acceptance? How have you split yourself into pieces, rejecting some and approving of others?

What if all parts of your being, even those that have been deemed unacceptable by yourself or society, are worthy of love? Without strings. And without a cost.

How would your life be different? How would you be different? All parts of the self, emotions and feelings, do not run on a gradient of right and wrong. Instead, each part of ourself is a gift.

The next time you feel sad, or angry, or lonely, what if instead of distracting yourself, or judging yourself, you listened? And explored these parts of yourself that have been exiled for so long.

P4P is dedicated to offering a safe container for you to sit with all facets of your being and help you find acceptance and space for all parts of yourself.

  • Spiritual

Empowerment of Self-Knowledge: The Power of Truth : The Power of Embodied Wisdom

Know Thyself. The ancient maxim illuminating a principle of spirituality as the deep connection with your own innate wisdom. Your best teacher is you. Tapping into the depth of answers and wisdom within the profoundness of your being.

Your intuition, your knowledge of self, is where your power lies. No-one else knows you. They only know versions of you they have constructed in their minds. So why do we defer to the wisdom of others over our own?

There is a place within us that we find our sense of deep belonging. The completeness you seek is already within you. This is where we hear our truth and know the next right step for ourselves. This is the home you have been searching for. This is the home that has been with you from the beginning.

P4P is dedicated to helping you reconnect with your inner authority and helping you resource yourself through your journey of self-discovery—the Heroine’s Journey of Perimenopause. P4P empowers you to find your inner knowing, your inner belonging, and bring you back home to yourself.

“It is an honor and privilege to share Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) as a bridge to empower others and I have much appreciation and gratitude to all of my mentors and teachers who have shared their wisdom and passion with me—both in China & the USA.  I am the physician and expert I am because of their generosity of spirit to empower me with their knowledge and leadership.  I would also like to acknowledge and honor the millennia of teachers and practitioners who paved the way, in both TCM & yoga, allowing for these ancient modalities to be present in modern times.
